My hair is big. And red.
I like it a lot, except when it is humid outside.
It can be straightened (only with a CHI), but I hardly make the effort. I have been cutting it myself for over a year now, maybe two, because I don't trust stylists and I am too cheap. I think I finally have the layer thing down.
It can only be tamed with copious amounts of mousse; and very few brands carry the right formula (the secret: Herbal Essences, orange bottle). I can give up as many chemical products as possible, but I can't imagine giving up the mousse addiction. It took me 17 years to figure it out.
In the dry air of the central west the curls relax and look almost perfect, which might be the main reason I don't want to leave this region.
My hair is big, too. I've always tamed it with bumble and bumble curl creme (which I love), but that stuff is pricy, man. I keep hearing good things about Herbal Essences mousse- I think I might have to try it out!
ReplyDeleteyour hair is gorgeous, I love it. Mine is polka straight and nothing works on it lol, so I just leave it how it is and gave up trying products on it.
ReplyDeletehaha, I meant poker straight, you can tell its monday morning :)
ReplyDeleteI have big, curly hair too & it can be such a pain. I love the straight look (only the Chi, of course) but it takes so much time and effort. I need to try this mousse because mine is working out okay (tresseme sp?) but could be better!
ReplyDeleteOh, I think you and I have very similar hair, but yours looks much healthier than mine! :) But for the longest time I didn't go to stylists either, because they always screwed it up...and I swear I was always stuck with a giant poof when I left the salon!
ReplyDeleteI may have to try HE (orange bottle!)...I'm always on the hunt for something that might tame the frizz that happens in these sticky midwestern summers!
