Requirements for a storybook cottage

Requirement #1: Very steep pointy rooflines. And mossy stone.

#2: Round windows and Snow White chimneys

{Check out that perfect fairytale woodland chimney!!!}
#3: A bit of German Black Forest-style fachwerk

Fachwerk + chimney + pointy roofs + diamond beveled windowpanes + wisteria vine-tree over the garage! A-plus.
And a tower will automatically do the job.
Especially with a hobbit-style door.

The historic neighborhoods around campus are disgustingly cute.

  2. ohhhh these houses are so cute!!! i absolutely LOVE them. i could definitely see myself living in the first one, coming home with a basketful of fruits and veggies from my local farmer's market and lighting up the house with candles.

  3. I would like to be friends with the person who lives in the last one. They could invite me over for a tea party. Doesn't it look like the kind of house that would be perfect for a tea party?

    They all do, in fact. So lovely!
